Safety Is Our Promise
Safety relies on people. Controllers carry the responsibility for every flight, every day. Every change to aviation must strengthen, not weaken, the human duty to protect lives and maintain the public trust.
About Us
Who We Are
The Global Air Traffic Controllers Alliance is an international organization representing air traffic control associations from six nations. Together, our member organizations represent 30,769 aviation safety experts, including 23,154 air traffic controllers.
Our members collectively manage 119.6 million square miles of airspace — more than half of Earth's total airspace — handling 414,295 flights and safely moving 5.1 million passengers every single day.
The Alliance gives a unified international voice to the professionals who stand as the last line of defence in aviation safety: influencing technology, shaping policy, and progressing collaborative industry relations on behalf of the workforce.

What We Stand For
The foundational commitments that guide every position the Alliance takes on behalf of the global controller workforce.
Safety relies on people. Controllers carry the responsibility for every flight, every day. Every change to aviation must strengthen, not weaken, the human duty to protect lives and maintain the public trust.
Innovation and change are essential and inevitable, but they must serve people, not replace them. Licensed controllers must remain in command, and technology must enhance and augment, not erode, human judgment. Modernization can succeed only when the primacy of human authority is clear.
Fair treatment, representation, and Just Culture are not workplace benefits, they are what make safe reporting, resilient operations and progress possible. Protecting the dignity and rights of controllers protects the flying public.
The Alliance builds solidarity across borders while defending the autonomy of national unions. Decisions that shape global aviation must include the people who keep it safe: nothing about us, without us.
