The Global Air Traffic Controllers Alliance has been monitoring the situation facing air traffic controllers in the Dominican Republic and issues the following statement of solidarity and support.
The professional rights and wellbeing of air traffic controllers must be protected wherever they work in the world. Controllers who dedicate their careers to aviation safety deserve fair treatment, transparent processes, and full protection of their legal and professional rights.
We call on the relevant Dominican Republic authorities to:
- Ensure due process and fair treatment for all controllers involved
- Engage constructively with controller representatives
- Protect the working conditions of aviation safety professionals
- Uphold international labour standards and ILO conventions
The Global ATC Alliance stands with the air traffic controllers of the Dominican Republic and will continue to raise this matter with the international aviation community.
